Install a power adapter

Follow instructions in this section to install power adapter(s).

As required by COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2019/1782 of 1 October 2019 laying down ecodesign requirements for external power supplies pursuant to Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009 (ErP Lot7) for the external power supply of the product.

Install a power adapter​

About this task

To avoid potential danger, make sure to read and follow the safety information.

  • S002
    disconnect all power
    CAUTION
    The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

    Never remove the cover on a power supply or any part that has this label attached. Hazardous voltage, current, and energy levels are present inside any component that has this label attached. There are no serviceable parts inside these components. If you suspect a problem with one of these parts, contact a service technician.

Attention

  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to make sure that you work safely.

  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the node; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Install a power adapter to the enclosure​

Procedure

  1. Connect the power adapter cable to the bridge cable that connects the adapter and the node.
  2. Install the power adapter to the power adapter support bracket of the enclosure.
    1. Coil the power adapter cord until length is suitable; then, bundle the cord with the pre-attached velcro strap and place the bundle in the bracket.
    2. Insert the power adapter into the power adapter support bracket of the enclosure.
    Important

    To contain both the cord and adapter in the bracket, keep the cord bundle flat and loose.

  3. Connect the power adapter cable to the node.
  4. Install the power cable cover onto the power adapter support bracket.
    1. For a 1U2N enclosure: align the power cable cover with the slot; then, push the cover slightly toward the rear of the node until it clicks into place.

    2. For a 2U2N enclosure: align the power cable cover with the slot; then, push the cover slightly toward the front of the node until it clicks into place.

    3. Tighten the two screws to secure the power cable cover.
