Remove the node from the DIN rail

Follow instructions in this section to remove the node from the node sleeve and the node sleeve from the DIN rail.

About this task

To avoid potential danger, make sure to read and follow the safety information.

  • S002
    disconnect all power
    CAUTION
    The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Remove the node from the node sleeve

Note
  • If applicable, unlock any locking device that secures the node to the node sleeve, such as a Kensington lock.

  • Depending on the specific configuration, the node or security bezel might look different from the illustrations in this section.

Procedure

  1. If applicable, remove the security bezel from the node sleeve.
    1. Use the key to unlock the security bezel.
    2. Press the release tab and pivot the security bezel and pivot the security bezel outward.
    3. Remove the security bezel from the node sleeve

  2. Power off the server and disconnect all external cables and power cords (see Power off the server).
  3. Remove the node from the node sleeve.
    1. Loosen the two thumbscrews on the side of the node sleeve.
    2. Slide the node out of the node sleeve.

After this task is completed

  • Carefully lay the node on a flat, static-protective surface.

Remove the node sleeve from the DIN rail

Procedure

  1. Remove the node sleeve from the DIN rail.
    1. Pull the node sleeve upward to disengage the two DIN-rail clips on the back of the node sleeve from the DIN rail.
    2. Pull the node sleeve away from the DIN rail..

  2. Remove the four screws as shown to remove the two DIN-rail clips from the node sleeve.
