Remove the Bluetooth antenna

Follow instructions in this section to remove the Bluetooth antenna.

CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Attention

Procedure

  1. Make preparation for this task.
    1. If necessary, remove all the WLAN antennas. See Remove the WLAN antennas.
    2. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
    3. Remove the PMB air baffle. See Remove the PMB air baffle.
    4. Lift the riser assembly from the node. See Remove the riser assembly from the node.
    Note
    This task requires a wrench. If necessary, use the wrench that comes in the PMB air baffle. Loosen the screw that secures the wrench to disengage the wrench from the air baffle.

  2. Lift the wireless adapter from the node.
    1. Loosen the three screws that secure the wireless adapter.
    2. Lift the wireless adapter up.

  3. Disconnect the Bluetooth antenna cable from the wireless adapter.
    1. Pinch and press the side of the cable holder on the XCC WLAN and Bluetooth module; then, lift up one end of the cable holder from the wireless adapter.

    2. Pivot the cable holder to 2 unlock position.

    3. Hook the Bluetooth antenna cable with the wrench as shown; then, gently remove the cable from the connector and the cable clip.

    4. Pivot the cable holder to 1 lock position.

    5. Press the side of the cable holder; then, insert the cable holder to the slot on the wireless adapter. Make sure the cables are secured by the cable holder.

  4. Remove the Bluetooth antenna.
    1. Loosen the screw nut that secures the Bluetooth antenna with the wrench.
    2. Remove the screw nut, and remove the washer if applicable.
      Note
      The washer is an optional part.

    3. Remove the Bluetooth antenna from the front of the node.

After this task is completed

  • Install a replacement unit. See Install the Bluetooth antenna.

  • After completing the task with the wrench that comes in the PMB air baffle, store the wrench back to the PMB air baffle for future use, and secure the wrench with one screw.
