Install the fixed power supply unit

Use this information to install the fixed power supply unit.

Electrical current from power, telephone, and communication cables is hazardous.

To avoid a shock hazard:

  • Connect all power cords to a properly wired and grounded electrical outlet/source.
  • Connect any equipment that will be attached to this product to properly wired outlets/sources.
  • When possible, use one hand only to connect or disconnect signal cables.
  • Never turn on any equipment when there is evidence of fire, water, or structural damage.
  • The device might have more than one power cord, to remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Never remove the cover on a power supply or any part that has this label attached. Hazardous voltage, current, and energy levels are present inside any component that has this label attached. There are no serviceable parts inside these components. If you suspect a problem with one of these parts, contact a service technician.

Procedure

  1. Align the pin on the fixed power supply unit with the slot on the chassis; then, lower the power supply unit into the chassis and slide the it towards the front of the chassis to lock the pin into the slot.

  2. Install the rear bracket.

    1. Insert the pin on the rear bracket into the slot on the rear of the chassis.
    2. Install the rear bracket into the chassis in the direction as shown.
  3. Install four screws to secure the rear bracket.

  4. Align the pins on the power supply unit bracket with the slots on the chassis; then, lower the power supply unit bracket into the chassis and slide it towards the front of the chassis.

  5. Install the screw on the power supply unit bracket to secure it.

After you finish

  1. Connect the power cables to the system board. See Fixed power supply unit cable routing.

  2. Install the top cover. See Install the top cover.

  3. Complete the parts replacement. See Complete the parts replacement.
