Install the SXM5 GPU power distribution board
Follow instructions in this section to install the SXM5 GPU power distribution board. The procedure must be executed by a trained technician.
About this task
Attention
- Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
- Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Note
Make sure you have Phillips #1 head screwdriver available to properly replace the component.
Firmware and driver download: You might need to update the firmware or driver after replacing a component.
Go to Drivers and Software download website for ThinkSystem SR675 V3 to see the latest firmware and driver updates for your server.
Go to Update the firmware for more information on firmware updating tools.
Procedure
- Install the SXM5 GPU power distribution board.
Align the SXM5 GPU power distribution board with guide slots in the two standoffs on the power distribution board; then, place the SXM5 GPU power distribution board on the power supply cage.
Fasten the four screws to secure the SXM5 GPU power distribution board to the power supply cage.NoteLoosen or tighten the screws with a torque screwdriver set to the proper torque. For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully loosen or tighten is 0.6±0.06 newton-meter, 5±0.5 pound-inch.Figure 1. SXM5 GPU power distribution board installation
- Connect the sideband cable to the SXM5 GPU power distribution board and power distribution board.Figure 2. Sideband cable connection
- If applicable, connect the CX-7 carrier board power cable to the SXM5 GPU power distribution board..Figure 3. CX-7 carrier board power cable connection
- Connect the SXM5 GPU board assembly power cable to the SXM5 GPU power distribution board.Figure 4. SXM5 GPU board assembly power cable connection
