Remove the SXM5 GPU power distribution board

Follow instructions in this section to remove the SXM5 GPU power distribution board. The procedure must be executed by a trained technician.

Note
Make sure you have Phillips #1 head screwdriver available to properly replace the component.

Procedure

  1. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
  2. Hold the strap on the SXM5 GPU board assembly power cable, and disconnect it from the SXM5 GPU power distribution board.

  3. Disconnect the sideband cable from both power distribution boards.

  4. If applicable, slightly press and hold the cable latch; then, disconnect the CX-7 carrier board power cable from the SXM5 GPU power distribution board.

  5. Remove the SXM5 GPU power distribution board.
    1. Unfasten the four screws that secure the SXM5 GPU power distribution board to the power supply cage.
      Note
      Loosen or tighten the screws with a torque screwdriver set to the proper torque. For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully loosen or tighten is 0.6±0.06 newton-meter, 5±0.5 pound-inch.
    2. Lift the SXM5 GPU power distribution board out of the chassis.
