Remove the thermal air flow rear baffle
Follow instructions in this section to remove the thermal air flow rear baffle.
About this task
Attention
- Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
- Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.
- If the server is installed in a rack, slide the server out on its rack slide rails to gain access to the top cover, or remove the server from the rack. See Remove the server from rack.
Procedure
- Make preparation for this task.
- Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
- If applicable, remove the PCIe riser 2. See Remove a PCIe riser.
- Remove the thermal air flow rear baffle.
Unfasten the two screws that secure the thermal air flow rear baffle to the chassis.
Use a pointed tool to disengage the thermal air flow rear baffle from the chassis.
Slightly rotate the thermal air flow rear baffle toward the power distribution board, and pull it away from the chassis.Figure 1. Thermal air flow rear baffle removal
