Install the power button with LED

Follow this procedure to install the power button with LED.

disconnect all power
CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

About this task

Attention

  1. Read Safety inspection checklist and Installation guidelines to ensure that you work safely.

  2. Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. Install the power button with LED.
    1. Tilt the power button, and insert the tab on the bottom of the power button cable into the slot.
    2. Push the power button into the slot until it snaps into place.

  2. Reinstall the front panel, see Install the front panel.
  3. Connect the power button cable to the system board, see Internal cable routing.
After you finish

  1. Reinstall the front bezel, see Install the front bezel.

  2. Proceed to complete the parts replacement, see Complete the parts replacement.
