Remove the power distribution board

Use this information to remove the power distribution board.

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Attention

• Read Installation guidelines to ensure that you work safely.

• Power off the server and disconnect all power cords for this task.

• Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.

• If the server is in a rack, remove it from the rack.

• If foot stands are installed on the server, rotate them inwards and lay the server on its side for easier operation.

Procedure

1. Make preparations for this task.
   1. Remove the hot-swap redundant power supply. See Remove a hot-swap power supply.
   2. Remove the server cover. See Remove the server cover.
   3. Remove all the flash power modules. See Remove a flash power module.
   4. Remove the air baffle. See Remove the air baffle.
   5. Remove all the PCIe adapters. See Remove a PCIe adapter.
   6. Remove all the full-length GPU adapters. See Remove a full-length GPU adapter.
   7. Remove all the fans. See Remove a hot-swap fan.
   8. Remove the fan cage. See Remove the fan cage assembly.
   9. Remove the system board. See Remove the system board.
   10. Remove the power distribution board cover. See Remove the power distribution board cover.
2. Disconnect all the cables from the power distribution board.
3. Remove the power distribution board.

   1. Remove the three screws that secure the power distribution board to the chassis.
   2. Slide the power distribution board towards the rear of the server to release it from the chassis; then, carefully hold the power distribution board by its edges and lift the power distribution board out of the chassis.
