Infrastructure admin
The infrastructure admin role has the most expansive permissions and is responsible for creating and managing all aspects of a ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller installation.
Specifically, this role has the following capabilities:
Physical infrastructure capabilities:
Create and manage organizations.
Set up and manage physical sites (geographic locations) of an organization.
Register and manage hardware across all sites, including routers, compute nodes, and storage blocks.
Specify and manage physical (underlay) networks (reserved VLAN tags for management networks and bridged VLAN networks for application instances) and their permissions, gateways, and routing.
Classify hardware using compute categories and tags.
Use support mode to troubleshoot issues or contact ThinkAgile CP Support.
Software-defined resource pool capabilities:
Create and manage migration zones.
Create and manage storage federation via storage pools.
Manage connectivity among migration zones and storage pools.
Create and manage virtual (overlay) networks, their ranges, gateway settings, firewall profiles, and routing options.
Create and manage virtual datacenters.
Allocate and manage compute and storage resources from one or more sites to virtual datacenters.
Specify virtual and bridged networks accessible to virtual datacenters. Note: The virtual datacenter in which a virtual network (VNET) NFV instance is running will automatically have access to that VNET.
Specify users and their level of access for each virtual datacenter.
User management capabilities:
Iinvite and manage ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller users of an organization.
Application template management capabilities:
Manage an organization’s template marketplace. Templates in this marketplace are accessible by all virtual datacenters.
Copy or move templates between a VDC Templates store and the Organization Templates store. Templates in the VDC Templates store are available only to users with access to the VDC. Templates in the Organization Templates store are available to all VDCs in the organization.
Create organization or virtual datacenter templates from application instances.
Download templates from the ThinkAgile CP marketplace to the Organization Templates store or a VDC Templates store.
Application instance management capabilities:
Deploy and manage applications inside virtual datacenters.
View all instances across the infrastructure.
Filter instances by hardware, resource pool, virtual, and application constructs (node, migration zone, storage pool, network, running, unresponsive, paused, and shutdown).
Perform bulk actions (start, restart, delete, shutdown, force shutdown) on instances.
Create and manage application groups in a virtual datacenter.
Create and manage application firewall overrides in a virtual datacenter.
Leverage disaster recovery (DR) replication if a virtual datacenter has storage allocations from two or more sites.
Developer option management capabilities:
Create and manage their own developer API tokens.
For more information about API tokens, see the following topic:
View and delete obfuscated versions of all API tokens of all roles in the organization.
