Removing the battery holder from 5U server model

Use this information to remove the battery holder from 5U server model.

To remove the battery holder from the 5U server model with hot-swap power supplies, complete the following steps.

  1. Read the safety information in Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. Turn off the server and all attached devices; then, disconnect all power cords and external cables.
  3. Unlock and remove the side cover (see Removing the side cover).
  4. Carefully turn the server on its side so that it is lying flat, with the cover facing up.
    Attention
    Do not allow the server to fall over.
  5. Remove the battery holder and bracket from the chassis by unscrewing the screw.

  6. Remove the battery holder from the bracket by sliding it out of the slot.

  7. Remove the latch retainer from the battery holder.

  8. If you are instructed to return the battery, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
