Removing a hot-swap storage drive
Use this information to remove a hot-swap storage drive.
The blade server (machine type 8028) has two storage bays for installing or removing hot-swap storage devices, such as SAS storage drives.

- The following illustration shows how to remove a hot-swap hard disk drive from a blade server.
- The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your hardware.
To remove a hot-swap hard disk drive, complete the following steps.
- Before you begin, read Safety and Installation guidelines.
- Press the arrow on the storage drive release handle to release the hard disk drive and use the release handle to pull the drive away from the storage bay.
- If you are instructed to return the hard disk drive, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
