Remove the power module board (PMB)

Follow instructions in this section to remove the power module board (PMB).

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Attention

• Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.

• If the node is installed in an enclosure or mounted, remove the node from the enclosure or mount. See Configuration guide.

Procedure

1. Make preparation for this task.
   1. If necessary, remove all the WLAN antennas. See Remove the WLAN antennas.
   2. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
   3. Remove the PMB air baffle. See Remove the PMB air baffle.
   4. Lift the riser assembly from the node. See Remove the riser assembly from the node.
   5. Depending on the model, remove the PMB side SMA assembly or SMA filler. See Remove the SMA assemblies.
   6. To ensure sufficient space for this task, place the signal cable that connects the front operator panel and rear operator panel outside of the chassis.

2. Disconnect the PMB LED cable from the power module board.

3. Loosen the three screws that secure the power module board.

4. Remove the power module board.
   1. Pinch the pull tapes to lift the power module board slightly up; then, pinch the edge of the power module board and lift it up to disengage it from the chassis.
   2. Disconnect all the cables from the power module board, and remove the power module board from the chassis.
