Remove the wireless adapter

Follow instructions in this section to remove the wireless adapter.

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Attention

• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.

• If the node is installed in an enclosure or mounted, remove the node from the enclosure or mount. See Configuration guide.

Procedure

1. Make preparation for this task.
   1. If applicable, remove the WLAN antennas. See Remove the WLAN antennas.
   2. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
   3. Remove the PMB air baffle. See Remove the PMB air baffle.
   4. Lift the riser assembly from the node. See Remove the riser assembly from the node.
   5. Remove the WLAN/Bluetooth modules. See Remove the WLAN/Bluetooth modules.
2. Remove the wireless adapter.
   1. Loosen the three screws that secure the wireless adapter.
   2. Lift the wireless adapter to remove it.
