Install a PCIe adapter

Use this information to install a PCIe adapter on the riser assembly or on the system board.

This topic contains the following information:

Note

• Your server supports PCIe slot 5 when two processors are installed.

• PCIe slot 6 does not support PCIe adapters with external mini-SAS HD connectors.

• Follow below PCIe slot selection priority when installing an Ethernet adapter or a converged network adapter:

  Number of installed processors	PCIe slot selection priority
  One processor	4, 2, 6, 3, 1
  Two processors	4, 2, 6, 3, 5, 1
