Install the front I/O module

Follow instructions in this section to install the front I/O module.

About this task

To avoid potential danger, read and follow the following safety statements.
  • S002
    disconnect all power
    CAUTION
    The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Attention

  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safety.

  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. Connect cables to the new front I/O module, and route the cables through the corresponding hole on the chassis.
  2. Install the front I/O module.
    1. Align the tab on the top and on the right side of the front I/O module with the side of the corresponding hole in the chassis.
    2. Pivot the front I/O module in until it clicks into place.

  3. Connect the respective cables to the front I/O module connector and the front USB connector on the system board. See Front I/O module cable routing for more information.
