Manage interconnect switches

The Action menu enables you to perform various operations on each interconnect switch that is part of the ThinkAgile CP solution.

To perform an action on a specific interconnect switch, open the Hardware page in the ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller management console, navigate to the Interconnect Switch section, and click on the Actions menu button () beside the specific interconnect switch.

You can perform the following actions for an interconnect switch:
ActionDescription

Restart

  1. Click Restart... from the Actions menu. A dialog box opens.

    Note

For single interconnect ThinkAgile CP4000 Series, the ThinkAgile CP infrastructure and the applications running on it are unreachable while the interconnect restarts. For dual interconnect environments, the ThinkAgile CP infrastructure and the applications running on it are reachable if the two interconnect switches are restarted sequentially.

  2. Click Restart Network Interconnect to confirm the restart process.

Edit name

  1. Click Edit name... from the Actions menu. A dialog box opens.

  2. Enter a new name for the interconnect.

    Note

The new name must be unique across all interconnect switches in your ThinkAgile CP environment.

  3. Click Update.

Reset manager password

The administrator password is used to log into the interconnect switch via a VNC console or an SSH session.

  1. Click Reset manager password... from the Actions menu. A dialog box opens.

  2. Enter a new password.

  3. Click Reset Password.

Note

The updated password is pushed to the interconnect switch. Hardware passwords are not stored in ThinkAgile CP.

Edit hypervisor network settings

See Modify Hypervisor Network Settings.

Restart network service

  1. Click Restart Network Service... from the Actions menu. A dialog box opens.

    Note

The interconnect switch does not restart, only the network services running on it. The ThinkAgile CP infrastructure and the applications running on it are reachable during the restart of the network services.

  2. Click Restart Network Service to confirm the restart process.

Add network interconnect for HA pairing

For more details about HA, see Network High Availability.

Note

All storage blocks and compute nodes linked to the interconnect switch need to be powered off before creating a HA interconnect pair.

  1. Click Add network interconnect for HA pairing... from the Actions menu. A dialog box opens.

  2. Enter the serial number of the second interconnect switch.

  3. You are redirected to a page where you can view the network settings for the second interconnect switch and configure the password for the manager account.
