Lenovo introduces a new version of the VX Deployer, Release 2.0.1

Software enhancements​

The following updates have been made for Release 2.0.1:

  • Updated software support.

    The ThinkAgile VX Deployer allows you to install and set up one of the following configurations:
    Note
    You cannot mix versions of VMware vCenter Server and VMware ESXi.

    • VMware vSAN 7

      • VMware vCenter Server 7.0 Update 3h (7.0.3.01000), build 20395099

      • VMware ESXi 7.0 Update 3g, build 20328353

      • Lenovo XClarity Integrator (LXCI), version 8.0 FP1 659

    • VMware vSAN 8

      • VMware vCenter Server 8.0 IA, build 20519528

      • VMware ESXi 8.0 IA, build 20513097

  • Enabled dual support for vSAN OSA and ESA.

    VMware Express Storage Architecture (ESA) is a new offering from VMware, beginning with VMware vSAN 8. It is supported on systems having specific configurations, such as NVMe drives.

    The VX Deployer automatically detects if the hosts in the cluster meet the requirements for ESA. If so, ESA is deployed. If the requirements are not met, the VX Deployer deploys VMware Original Storage Architecture (OSA).

  • Single subnet support.

    The ThinkAgile VX Deployer now supports environments where both ESXi management and XCC networks are on the same subnet.

  • vLCM cluster image configuration.

    If you choose to install Lenovo XClarity Integrator (LXCI), the ThinkAgile VX Deployer automatically configures a vLCM cluster image for the new vSAN clusters. Optionally, you can configure the VX Deployer to initiate cluster remediation at the end of the cluster deployment.
