Volumes degraded in volume group or pool – drive failure
The data on the volumes is still accessible; however, data may be lost if another drive in the same volume group or pool fails.
You can replace failed drives while the storage array is receiving I/O.
Make sure the replacement drives have a capacity equal to or greater than the failed drives you will remove.
Before proceeding, ensure that the OK to remove field in the Details area indicates Yes. If No is displayed, it indicates that there is another component that must be serviced first. Always select Recheck prior to and after servicing a component to ensure that there aren't any new problems that may affect the component you plan to service.
Always use proper anti-static protection when handling components. Touching components without using a grounding wrist strap may damage equipment.
Recovery Steps
Remove the failed drive(s) identified in the Details area (the fault indicators on the physical drives should be lit).
Wait at least 30 seconds after removing a drive before inserting a new one.
Insert the new drives. The fault indicator light on the new drives may become lit for a short time (one minute or less).
The fault indicator lights will go off and the associated activity indicator lights will start flashing. Also, the Operations in Progress link accessible from the Home Page will track the progress of the activity.
Select Recheck to ensure the problem has been resolved.
