Installing XClarity Management Hub for edge-client devices
Install Lenovo XClarity Management Hub virtual appliance on a system in your local environment.
Before you begin
Before installing and configuring XClarity Management Hub, review the network consideration (see Network considerations – XClarity Management Hub).
- Do not use the XClarity Orchestrator to apply firmware updates to that managed server. Even when only some of the firmware is applied with immediate activation, the XClarity Orchestrator forces the target server to restart, which would restart the XClarity Management Hub as well. When applied with deferred activation, only some firmware is applied when the XClarity Management Hub host is restarted.
- If the managed server is in a chassis, you cannot use XClarity Management Hub to apply firmware updates to that entire chassis at one time.
- Ensure that the server is set to automatically power on. You can set this option from the CMM web interface by clicking Auto Power for the Auto Power On Mode. , then selecting the server, and selecting
Ensure that you have reviewed the prerequisites, including hardware requirements and recommendations (see Supported hardware and software – XClarity Management Hub).
Ensure that all appropriate ports are enabled, including ports that XClarity Management Hub requires (see Port availability).
Ensure that the devices that you intend to manage are supported and are at the required version levels (see Supported hardware and software – XClarity Management Hub).
