Remove the PIB module

Follow instructions in this section to remove the power input board (PIB) module.

CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Attention

Procedure

  1. Make preparation for this task.
    1. If necessary, remove all the WLAN antennas. See Remove the WLAN antennas.
    2. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
    3. Remove the PMB air baffle. See Remove the PMB air baffle.
    4. Lift the riser assembly from the node. See Remove the riser assembly from the node.
    5. Depending on the configuration, remove the power module board or internal power supply unit. See Remove the power module board (PMB) or Remove the internal power supply unit (AC PMB).
  2. Proceed to the section corresponding to the PIB module to be removed.

Remove the DC PIB module​

Procedure

  1. Loosen the screw that secures the PIB module.
  2. Carefully pinch and hold the connector of the RJ-45 UART cable; then, push the PIB module outwards to remove it from the chassis.

After this task is completed

  • Install a replacement unit. See Install the PIB module.

  • If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

Remove the AC PIB module​

Procedure

  1. Loosen the screw that secures the PIB module.
  2. Carefully pinch and hold the power connector; then, push the PIB module outwards to remove it from the chassis.

After this task is completed

  • Install a replacement unit. See Install the PIB module.

  • If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
