Remove the PIB board
Use this information to remove the PIB board.
Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
Power off the server and disconnect all power cords for this task.
Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.
Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
Pull out the power supplies slightly. Ensure that they are disconnected from the system board.
Remove the system board assembly out of the chassis. See Remove the processor board.
To remove the PIB board, complete the following steps:
- Remove the two screws from the PIB board.
- Pull out the PIB board outward from the system board tray.
If you are instructed to return the old PIB board, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging materials that are provided.
