The M.2 backplane retainer can be adjusted to accommodate three physical M.2 drive sizes.
Complete the following steps to adjust the M.2 backplane retainer position:
Figure 1. M.2 backplane retainer adjustment - Locate the correct keyhole to accommodate the retainer for the size of the M.2 drive that you are installing.
- Press both sides of the retainer and move it toward the connector until it is in the large opening of the keyhole; then, remove the retainer from the backplane.
- Insert the retainer into the keyhole that matches the size of your M.2 drive; then, and slide it back until the retainer locking nubs are in the holes.
