Remove a RAID flash power module

Follow instructions in this section to remove a RAID flash power module (supercap).

About this task

To avoid potential danger, read and follow the following safety statements.
  • S002
    disconnect all power
    CAUTION
    The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safety.

  • Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.

  • If the server is in a rack, remove it from the rack.

  • Remove any locking device that secures the server cover, such as a Kensington lock or a padlock.

Procedure

  1. Remove the server cover. See Remove the server cover.
  2. Disconnect the cable of the RAID flash power module from the RAID card.
  3. Remove the RAID flash power module and bracket assembly from the chassis.
    Note
    Your RAID flash power module might look slightly different from those shown in the illustrations.
    1. Press the tab on the RAID flash power module bracket.
    2. Remove the RAID flash power module and bracket assembly from the chassis.

  4. Remove the RAID flash power module from the bracket.
    1. Gently pull the tab on the bracket.
    2. Remove the module from the bracket.
