Software enhancements

This version supports the following enhancements to the management software.
FunctionDescription
Firmware updates

You can update firmware on ThinkSystem V4 servers using immediate activation or on reset. The OnReset activation rule pushes the firmware updates to the server and then waits until after the next server reboot to start the update process (see Applying selected firmware updates using compliance policies and Applying selected firmware updates without using compliance policies).

You can delete all unused firmware packages in updates repository, including or excluding the latest versions (see Managing disk space).

You can update firmware on field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and backplane PSOC in supported devices (see Updating firmware on managed devices).

Operating systems

Added the following predefined macros that you can use in unattend files and post-installation scripts to customize Windows profiles for deployment: predefined.globalSettings.activeDirectory.domainName, predefined.globalSettings.credentials.plaintextPassword, and predefined.unattendSettings.os.installImageName (see Predefined macros).

Service and support

The service-recovery password must have at least 16 characters (see Changing the service-recovery password).
