Remove the front operator assembly

Follow instructions in this section to remove the front operator assembly.

    disconnect all power
    CAUTION
    The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Procedure

  1. Make preparations for this task.
    1. If applicable, unlock or remove any locking device that secures the top cover, such as a Kensington lock; then, remove the top cover (see Remove the top cover).
    2. Disconnect the cable from the front operator assembly (see Cable routing for the front operator assembly).
  2. Remove the three screws that secure the front operator assembly to the node.
  3. Disengage and remove the front operator assembly from its slot.

After this task is completed

  • Install a replacement unit (see Install a front operator assembly).
  • If you are instructed to return the component, follow all of the packaging instructions and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
