Drive and backplane replacement

Follow instructions in this section to remove or install the components of a drive assembly, including the hot-swap drives, drive cage, and drive backplane(s).

Note
  • ThinkEdge SE350 V2 supports two types of drive assemblies:

    • 7mm drive assembly:

      • This assembly includes up to four 7mm 2.5-inch hot-swap SATA or NVMe drives or drive bay fillers, one 7mm drive cage, and two backplanes.

    • 15mm drive assembly:

      • This assembly includes up to two 15mm hot-swap NVMe 2.5-inch drives or drive bay fillers, one 15mm drive cage, and one backplane.

  • Information in this section includes the removal and installation of a 2.5-inch hot-swap drive from and into a drive bay; removal and installation of the backplane(s) from and onto the drive cage; and, removal and installation of the drive cage from and to the node.
