Install the GPU power distribution board tray

Follow instructions in this section to install the GPU power distribution board tray. The procedure must be executed by a trained technician.

About this task

Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. If necessary, install the cables to the GPU power distribution board tray.
    Note
    Make sure to install the cables with correct orientations, see the illustration below for corresponding orientations.
    1. Align the cable with the port frame and lower it to install it to the tray.
    2. Slide the blue latch to lock the cable into place.

    3. Repeat to install other three cables.
  2. Install the GPU power distribution board tray.
    1. Align the tray with the guide pins on the 8U GPU shuttle; then, place the tray into the 8U GPU shuttle until it is securely engaged.
    2. Rotate the handle of the tray all the way down.

  3. Tighten the two thumbscrews to secure the GPU power distribution board tray.

  4. Connect the cables to the GPU power distribution board. See GPU power distribution board cable routing for more information.
  5. Install the cables to the cable holder frame and baffle assembly.
    Note
    Make sure to install the cables with correct orientations, see the illustration below for corresponding orientations.
    1. Align the cable with the port frame, and lower it to install it to the assembly.
    2. Slide the blue latch to lock the cable into place.

    3. Repeat to install the other three cables.

After you finish

  1. Reinstall the power complex. See Install the power complex.
  2. Reinstall the 8U GPU shuttle. See Install the 8U GPU shuttle.
  3. Reinstall all the 2.5-inch hot-swap drives or drive bay fillers (if any) into the drive bays. See Install a 2.5-inch hot-swap drive
  4. Reinstall all the front fans. See Install a front hot-swap fan.
  5. Reinstall all the power supply units. See Install a hot-swap power supply unit.Reinstall all the rear fans. See Install a rear hot-swap fan.
  6. Complete the parts replacement. See Complete the parts replacement.
