Attention

Remove a DC PIB module

Procedure

  1. Make preparations for this task.
    1. If applicable, unlock or remove any locking device that secures the top cover, such as a Kensington lock; then, remove the top cover (see Remove the top cover).
    2. Disconnect all the drive cables from the system board; then, remove the drive cage from the node (see Remove the drive cage).
    3. Remove the power module board and disconnect the cables between the power module board and power input board module (see Remove the power module board (PMB) and Cable routing for the power module board and power input board module).
  2. Remove the power input board module.
    1. Remove the four screws that secure the power input board module.
    2. Carefully slide the power input board module out of the rear of the node.
      Note

Use the interior side and rear-top side of the power input board module as the touch points.

  3. (Optional) If necessary, remove the PMB status LED cable from the PIB module.
    Attention

The LED latch is fragile; removing the PMB status LED cable from the PIB module is highly likely to break the latch. Remove this cable from the PIB module only when it is absolutely necessary.

    1. Press the LED latches with a tool, such as a flat-head screwdriver.
    2. Remove the LED cable from the PIB module.
