Install the power distribution board

Use this information to install the power distribution board.

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Attention

• Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.

• If the server is installed in a rack, remove the server from the rack.

• Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Firmware and driver download: You might need to update the firmware or driver after replacing a component.

• Go to Drivers and Software download website for ThinkSystem SR250 V3 to see the latest firmware and driver updates for your server.

• Go to Update the firmware for more information on firmware updating tools.

Procedure

1. Install the power distribution board.
   1. Align the power distribution board slots with the alignment pins 1.
   2. Lower the power distribution board onto the server.

2. Fasten the two screws to secure the power distribution board.

3. Connect the cables to the power distribution board. See Power distribution board cable routing.
4. Align the power distribution board cover pin 1 with the hook 2 and lower it into the server; then, slightly slide the power distribution board cover backwards to insert it.

5. Fasten the two screws to secure the power distribution board cover.
