Technical rules for GPU adapters

For NVIDIA Tesla T4 and NVIDIA A2, the rules of installing two and three GPUs are as follows:

For two GPUs:
  • PCIe slot priority to install the GPU: PCIe slot 1, PCIe slot 3, PCIe slot 2.

  • High-performance fan must be selected.

  • Internal drive assembly and rear drive cage are not supported.

  • PCIe SSD adapter is not supported.

  • Maximum TDP for CPU is 180 watts.

For three GPUs:
  • If intrusion switch is installed, the server supports up to two GPU adapters in PCIe slot 2 and slot 3.

  • PCIe slot priority to install the GPU: PCIe slot 1, PCIe slot 3, PCIe slot 2.

  • High-performance fan must be selected.

  • Internal drive assembly and rear drive cage are not supported.

  • PCIe SSD adapter is not supported.

  • It can only be supported when servers are configured as 4 x 3.5" SAS/SATA, 8 x 2.5" SAS/SATA (6 x 2.5" SAS/SATA + 2 x HDD vacant), 6 x 2.5" SAS/SATA + 4 x 2.5" AnyBay (6 x 2.5" SAS/SATA + 4 x HDD vacant) or 10 x 2.5" AnyBay (6 x 2.5" AnyBay + 4 x HDD vacant).

    • For 8 x 2.5" SAS/SATA (6 x 2.5" SAS/SATA + 2 x HDD vacant), if HDDs are installed in slots 0-5, two 1 x 2.5" single filler should be installed on slots 6 and 7.

    • For 6 x 2.5" SAS/SATA + 4 x 2.5" AnyBay (6 x 2.5" SAS/SATA + 4 x HDD vacant), if HDDs are installed in slots 0-5, four 1 x 2.5" single filler should be installed on slots 6, 7, 8 and 9.

    • For 10 x 2.5" AnyBay (6 x 2.5" AnyBay + 4 x HDD vacant), if HDDs are installed in slots 0-5, four 1 x 2.5" single filler should be installed on slots 6, 7, 8 and 9.

For NVIDIA Quadro P620, the rules of installing one to three GPUs are the same. See the following:
  • If intrusion switch is installed, the server supports up to two GPU adapters in PCIe slot 2 and slot 3.

  • PCIe slot priority to install the GPU: PCIe slot 1, PCIe slot 3, PCIe slot 2.

  • High-performance fan must be selected.

  • Internal drive assembly and rear drive cage are not supported.

  • PCIe SSD adapter is not supported.

  • Maximum TDP for CPU is 225 watts.
