Remove a storage board assembly
Remove a storage board assembly by disconnecting the cables inside the storage tray, pressing the release clips on the storage board assembly, and sliding it out of the storage tray.

CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
CAUTION
Make sure that all server power cords are disconnected from their power sources before performing this procedure.
Before you remove the storage board assembly:
Remove the front cover. See Remove the front cover.
Remove the storage tray. See Remove a storage tray.
Complete the following steps to remove the storage board assembly:

- Disconnect all cables on the storage board assembly that go to connectors in the storage tray. See Internal cable routing.
- Press the release clips on the lower board of the storage board assembly and slide the storage board assembly out of the storage tray.
After you remove the storage board assembly, install the storage tray and front cover. See Install the storage tray (fully removed) and Install the front cover.
If you are instructed to return the storage board assembly, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
