Removing the USB assembly

Use the information to remove the USB assembly.

If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.

To remove the USB assembly from the server, complete the following steps.

1. Carefully lay the server down on its side.
2. Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see Removing the left-side cover).
3. Remove the air baffle (see Removing the air baffle).
4. Disconnect the USB assembly cable from the system board (see System-board internal connectors and Internal cable routing and connectors).
5. Stand the server back up in its vertical position.
6. Open the bezel door (see Opening the bezel door).
7. Press down on the release latch of the USB assembly; then, rotate it to be released away from the server.
