Install the PIB board

Use this information to install the PIB board.

Before installing the PIB board, touch the static-protective package that contains the new PIB board to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the new PIB board out of the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

To install the PIB board, complete the following steps:

  1. Gently hold and lower the PIB board into the system board tray.
  2. Install the five screws to secure the PIB board.
  3. Connect cables to the PIB board. See Connections between the system board, PIB board, and fan board.
After you finish

  1. Install the middle drive cage if you have removed it. See Middle drive cage replacement.

  2. Install the air baffle if you have removed it. See Install the air baffle.

  3. Push the power supplies into the bays until they click into place.

  4. Complete the parts replacement. See Complete the parts replacement.
