Keyboard, mouse, or USB-device problems

Follow this procedure to solve problems related to a keyboard, mouse, or USB device.

Keyboard or mouse does not work

Complete the following steps until the problem is solved.

  1. Make sure that:

    • The keyboard/mouse cable is securely connected.

    • The server and the monitor are both turned on.

    • The latest version of corresponding driver is installed.

    • USB keyboard/mouse function is enabled. Go to Setup Utility, and select Devices > USB Setup > USB Legacy Support to examine the status. If it is disabled, enable it.

  2. If the keyboard/mouse is connected to a USB hub, remove the keyboard from the hub, and connect it directly to the server.

  3. Disconnect the keyboard/mouse and connect it to another USB connector.

  4. If the problem recurs, replace the keyboard/mouse.

USB-device does not work

Complete the following steps until the problem is solved.

  1. Make sure that:

    • The device is supported by the server (see Lenovo ServerProven website).

    • The corresponding USB device driver is installed.

    • The operating system supports USB devices.

    • The USB port adopted is enabled. Go to Setup Utility, and select Devices > USB Setup to examine the status. If it is disabled, enable it. Make sure USB Support is enabled, too.

  2. If the device is connected to a USB hub, remove the device from the hub, and connect it directly to the server.

  3. Disconnect the keyboard and connect it to another USB connector.

  4. If the problem recurs, replace the device.

Unable to use the configuration USB Key (setup.bin) to configure Intel AMT

Complete the following steps until the problem is solved.

  1. Reboot the system.

  2. Go to Setup Utility, and select Advanced > Intel ® Manageability > USB Provisioning, and enable it.

  3. Press F10 to save the setting.
