Network and firewall requirements

Migration Manager requires NFS v3 connectivity between the Migration Manager instance and your storage controllers for template deployments. Note that firewall rules may need to change.

The following table outlines connectivity requirements for Migration Manager users, components, and VMware. As the Migration Manager Console is responsible for deploying and destroying workers via DHCP, it is important that the implementation of the rules below recognize the dynamic nature of workers. The Migration Manager Console can be assigned a static address via a VNET reservation or via the DHCP service provided external to ThinkAgile CP via a VLAN.

Note
  • For troubleshooting purposes, it may be necessary for Lenovo Support to log on to the Console or Worker(s) via SSH, 22/TCP.

  • Migration Manager supports a single NIC on the target; multi-NIC VMs will require post-conversion shutdown and adding additional NICs.
