Windows Disks Offline after Adding vNIC

This section covers the workaround procedures for when disks go offline after adding a vNIC.

The following procedure adds a new vNIC and results in disks going offline:

  1. Shut down a Windows Server instance that has multiple disks and is in Enhanced mode.
  2. Select Add vNIC from the Actions drop-down menu, enter the settings for the new vNIC, and click Add vNIC.
  3. Start the instance.

After the instance boots up, all disks except the boot disk are offline.

To resolve the issue, try Workaround 1. If the issue still persists, try Workaround 2.
