Mirror communication problem with remote volume
The storage array is able to communicate with the remote storage array but cannot communicate with the remote volume. T
This problem occurs for the following reasons:
The remote volume has been deleted.
The mirror relationship on the remote side was removed, but a communication problem prevented its removal from this storage array.
The remote volume is offline.
The remote volume is failed or the drives associated with the volume have been removed from the remote storage array.
Recovery Steps
Do you want to retain the mirrored pair shown in the Details area?
If yes, go to step 2.
If no, go to step 11.
Open the ThinkSystem System Manager for the remote storage array shown in the Details area.
Check to see if the remote volume for the affected mirrored pair has been deleteted from the remote storage array.
Go to .
Search for the remote volume shown in the Details area in the table. If the volume is listed in the table it is has not been deleted, otherwise it was.
Has the remote volume been deleted from the remote storage array?
If yes, create a new volume on the remote storage array that is the same size as the local volume in the affected mirrored pair, and then go to step 8.
If no, go to step 4.
Are any problems related to the mirrored pair's remote volume being reported on the remote storage array?
If yes, correct the problems, and then go to step 16.
If no, go to step 5.
Check to see if the mirror relationship for the affected mirrored pair has been removed from the remote storage array.
Go to .
Search for the mirrored pair shown in the Details area in the table. If the mirrored pair is listed in the table it is has not been removed, otherwise it was.
Has the mirror relationship been removed from the remote storage array?
If yes, go to step 8.
If no, go to step 6.
Select the Save icon in the Recovery Guru to save the remaining steps to a file. These steps will no longer be accessible after you complete step 7.
Remove the affected mirrored pair's mirror relationship from the remote storage array.
Go to .
Highlight the mirrored pair shown in the Details area.
Select Remove under Uncommon Tasks.
Open the ThinkSystem System Manager for the local storage array shown in the Details area.
Remove the affected mirrored pair's mirror relationship from the local storage array.
Go to .
Highlight the mirrored pair shown in the Details area.
Select Uncommon Tasks under Uncommon Tasks.
Re-create the mirrored pair on the storage array containing the volume you want to be the primary volume, and then go to step 16.

Select Mirror under Uncommon Tasks.
Re-create the removed mirrored pair by selecting Mirror Volume.
Go to step 16.
Open the ThinkSystem System Manager for the remote storage array shown in the Details area.
Check to see if the mirror relationship for the affected mirrored pair has been removed from the remote storage array.

Search for the mirrored pair shown in the Details area in the table. If the mirrored pair is listed in the table it is has not been removed, otherwise it was.
Has the mirror relationship been removed from the remote storage array?
If yes, go to step 14.
If no, go to step 13.
Remove the affected mirrored pair's mirror relationship from the remote storage array.

Highlight the mirrored pair shown in the Details area.
Select Remove under Uncommon Tasks.
Open the ThinkSystem System Manager for the local storage array shown in the Details area.
Remove the affected mirrored pair's mirror relationship from the local storage array.
Go to .
Highlight the mirrored pair shown in the Details area.
Select Remove under Uncommon Tasks.
Select Recheck to ensure the problem has been resolved.
