Remove the rail from the rack

To remove the rail from the rack, follow the instructions that are provided below.

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Procedure

1. Make preparations for this task.
   1. Remove all trays from the enclosure. See Remove a tray from the enclosure.
   2. Remove the blank filler. See Remove the blank filler.
   3. Remove the SMM3. See Remove the SMM3.
   4. Disconnect power cords and remove all Power Conversion Stations (PCS). See Remove a Power Conversion Station (PCS).
   5. Remove all Power Conversion Station (PCS) cages. See Remove a Power Conversion Station (PCS) cage.
   6. Remove upper and lower manifolds. See Remove the manifold.
   7. Remove the enclosure mid-plate assembly. See Remove the mid-plate assembly.
2. Remove the enclosure from the rack. See Remove the enclosure from the rack.
3. Remove the rail from the rack.
   1. From the front of the rail, lift up the locking hook and pull the rail out of the rack.
   2. From the rear of the rail, lift up the locking hook and pull the rail out of the rack.
      
      
      
4. Repeat to remove the other rail.
