Viewing device details

This topic describes how to view detailed information about each device, including its running status, inventory, alerts and events, system metrics, and firmware.

Procedure

To view device details, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Lenovo SDI Management Platform menu bar, click Resources (), and then click Hardware. All managed devices of that type will be listed.

  2. Click a device row to display the summary card of the device.

  3. Perform one or more of the following operations.

  • Click Summary to view an overall summary of the device, including device information, status, inventory health, system metrics, service tickets, and warranty. This page also provides shortcuts for various operations, such as power-on/off, service data collection, and initiation of remote control sessions.

    This page displays the status of each LED on the front operator panel.

    • **Power LED**

      • On (): The device is powered on.

      • Off (): The device is powered off.

    • **Location LED**

      • On (): The location LED on the control panel is lit.

      • Blinking (): The location LED on the control panel is lit and flashing.

      • Off (): The location LED on the control panel is unlit.

    • **System error LED**

      • On (): The system error LED on the control panel is lit.

      • Off (): The system error LED on the control panel is unlit.

  • Click Inventory to view detailed information about hardware components in the device, such as processors, memory, drives, power modules, fans, add-in cards, onboard cards, and baseboards.

  • Click Alerts Log to view active alerts and alert statistics of the device (see Monitoring active alerts).

  • Click Events Log to view events of the device (see Monitoring events).

  • Click Firmware to view firmware used by the current device and its components.

  • Click Service to view archived service data and service tickets of the device.

  • Clicking Advisory to view the online customer suggestion list, including a summary and link to each suggestion. Click a link, and you will open a web page containing details about the suggestion.

  • Click Utilization to view system utilization, temperature, and power metrics of ThinkAgile and ThinkSystem devices over time.

After you finish

In addition to viewing device the details above, you can perform the following operations on the device from this page:

  • On the Summary tab, click the device's primary IP address to launch the web interface of the baseboard management controller.

  • Click the device's IP address to launch the device web interface from the Summary tab.

  • Click the resource manager's name or IP address to launch the resource manager web interface from the Summary tab.
