Cannot connect to a resource manager

Refer to the following when you cannot connect to a resource manager:

  • Ensure that the credentials are correct for the resource manager and that the password is not expired.
Note: Ensure that the password follows the security and password policies for the device. Security and password policies might vary. :::
  • Specify the fully-qualified domain name or IP address (IPv4). Using the host name without the domain name is not supported.
  • Ensure that the resource manager does not have the maximum number of supported data forwarders. After establishing a connection with the XClarity Administrator resource manager, Lenovo SDI Management Platform creates an event forwarder in it.

  • Ensure that the event forwarder in the XClarity Administrator resource manager is enabled.

  • Ensure that the version of the resource manager is supported. For a list of supported devices, see Supported hardware and software.

  • Ensure that the resource manager is reachable on the network from Lenovo SDI Management Platform and that Lenovo SDI Management Platform is reachable on the network from the resource manager.

  • Ensure that the correct ports are opened in the firewall. For information about port requirements, see Port availability.

  • If the resource manager's certificate is signed by an external certificate authority (CA), ensure that the CA certificate and any intermediate certificates are imported into the Lenovo SDI Management Platform truststore (see Working with security certificates in the online documentation of Lenovo SDI Management Platform).
