Install a dust filter

Follow instructions in this section to install a dust filter into the shipping bracket of an enclosure or the security bezel of a node sleeve.

About this task

Attention
Important
  • Depending on the environment, check the status of the dust filter at least every 3 months to make sure it is functional.
  • It is recommended to have a dust filter installed when the server is in operation.

Install a dust filter into the shipping bracket of an enclosure

  • Depending on the specific configuration, the node, enclosure, or rails might look different from the illustrations in this section.

Procedure

  1. Make preparations for this task.
    1. Remove the shipping bracket from the enclosure (see Remove a node from a rack).
  2. Align the dust filter with the slot in the shipping bracket; then, insert the dust filter into place.

Install a dust filter into the security bezel of a node sleeve

Note
  • Depending on the specific configuration, the node or security bezel might look different from the illustrations in this section.

Procedure

  1. Make preparations for this task.
    1. Remove the security bezel from the node sleeve (see Remove the node from the DIN rail or Remove the node from the wall or the ceiling).
  2. Align the dust filter with the slot in the security bezel; then, insert the filter into place.

  3. Install the dust filter holder onto the security bezel.
    1. Insert one side of the dust filter holder into the slot.
    2. Pivot the dust filter holder inward and press the other side of the holder into place.
