Remove a RAID flash power module from the holder

Follow the instructions in this section to remove a RAID flash power module from the holder.

CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Attention

Procedure

  1. Make preparation for this task.
    1. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
    2. If applicable, remove all the internal drives. See Remove an internal drive.
    3. If applicable, remove the internal drive backplane. See Remove the internal drive backplane.
    4. If applicable, remove internal drive cage. See Remove the internal drive cage.
  2. Remove the RAID flash power module from the holder.
    1. Pull back the retention clips; meanwhile, hold the RAID flash power module, and pivot the cable side of the module to disengage it from the holder.
    2. Remove the RAID flash power module from the holder.
    Note
    Be careful not to grasp the cables of the RAID flash power module.

  3. Disconnect the RAID flash power module from the extension cable.

After this task is completed
  • Install a replacement unit. See Install a RAID flash power module to the holder.

  • If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
