Remove the rear 3.5-inch drive cage
Use this information to remove the rear 3.5-inch drive cage.
Before removing the rear drive cage:
Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.
Disconnect the cables from the rear drive cage.
Remove all the installed drives and fillers (if any) from the drive bays. See Remove a hot-swap drive.
To remove the rear drive cage, complete the following steps:

- Twist and pull out the blue plungers.
- Slide the drive cage towards the rear of the chassis to release it.
- If needed, remove the backplane from the drive cage. See Middle/Rear backplane replacement.
If you are instructed to return the old drive cage, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging materials that are provided.
