Remove the intrusion switch

Use this information to remove the intrusion switch.

Before removing the intrusion switch:
  1. If the server is installed in a rack, extend the server from the rack.

  2. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.

  3. Remove the riser 2 assembly. See Remove a riser card (8 PCIe slots) or Remove a riser card (rear 2.5-inch drive cage).

To remove the intrusion switch, complete the following steps:

  1. Disconnect the cable of the intrusion switch from the system board.
  2. Remove the intrusion switch assembly from the riser bracket:
    1. Loosen the screw.

    2. Slide the intrusion switch assembly as shown to remove it from the riser bracket.

  3. Slide the intrusion switch as shown to remove it from the intrusion switch bracket.

If you are instructed to return the old intrusion switch, follow all of the packaging instructions and use any packaging materials that are provided.
