Viewing the cluster host list

Before you begin

Click Resources () > Hosts to enter the host management page.

Procedure

Cluster host list

The host management page provides information about all hosts in a cluster, including host name, status, health status, CPU utilization, memory utilization, BMC server name, and model information. You can filter and search for specific hosts, or sort them by table field name.

  • Click a host name to enter the details page of a host. For details, see Viewing host details.
  • Click Servers to enter the server hardware management page, where you can view detailed hardware information and perform hardware management operations. For details, see Viewing device details.

Cluster host operations

Host maintenance mode

Select a host from the host list, and then click Operation > Enter Maintenance Mode to open the pop-up window. - Specify whether to move virtual machines that are powered off and suspended to other hosts in the cluster. - Specify the vSAN data migration type. - Click OK to enter maintenance mode.

If the host is already in maintenance mode, click Exit Maintenance Mode. On the confirmation pop-up window, click OK to exit maintenance mode.

Cluster expansion

To add a host to the current cluster, complete the following steps:

  • Click Operation > Expansion to open the pop-up window and specify the following information:
    1. ESXi host IP address
    2. Host username
    3. Host password
  • Click Save and wait for the new host to be added. Tips: If XClarity Administrator has been used, you need to add the BMC of the host to XClarity Administrator. After the host is added, it takes about 15 minutes before you can see the hardware information about the new host on the Lenovo SDI Management Platform.
