Remote control session does not start

Refer to the following when you fail to start a remote control session from the Lenovo SDI Management Platform web interface or from the shortcut on your system:

To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:

  • Ensure that the server to which you are connecting is managed by Lenovo SDI Management Platform, its' health status is "Normal", and its' connectivity status is "Online". For more information about how to view the status of a server, see Viewing device status.

  • Ensure that pop-up dialogs are not disabled in your web browser for the session.

  • Ensure that your web browser has accepted security certificates from Lenovo SDI Management Platform. Typically, you are prompted to accept the certificate the first time that you access Lenovo SDI Management Platform from your browser.

  • For ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile servers, ensure that baseboard management controller firmware v2.94 or later is installed.

  • Remote control requires that a Features on Demand key for ThinkServer System Manager Premium Upgrade is installed on ThinkServer servers. For more information about FoD keys that are installed on your servers, see Viewing Features on Demand keys in the Lenovo XClarity Administrator online documentation.
