Remove an intrusion switch

Use this information to remove an intrusion switch.

Before removing an intrusion switch:
  1. If the server is installed in a rack, extend the server from the rack.

  2. Remove the top cover. See Remove the top cover.

  3. Disconnect the cable of the intrusion switch from the system board. For the location of the intrusion switch connector, refer to System board components.

  4. Remove the riser assembly. See Remove a riser card.

  5. Remove the PCIe adapter. See Remove a PCIe adapter.

To remove an intrusion switch, complete the following steps:

Note
The intrusion switch can only be installed in riser 1 assembly (LP/FHFL). The riser bracket in which the intrusion switch is installed might be different from the illustration below, but the installation method is the same. For different types of supported riser bracket, see Figure 1.

If you are instructed to return the old intrusion switch, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging materials that are provided.
