disconnect all power
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Complete the following steps to install the front operator panel.

Figure 1. Front operator panel installation
Front operator panel installation

  1. Insert the front operator panel into the front of the lower compute tray.
The operator panel connector housing with the side retaining clips remains attached to the operator panel. The operator panel cable slides into this housing.
  2. Connect the operator panel cable to the front operator panel. Make sure the operator panel cable is folded beneath the connector, as shown in Cable routing for common components to prevent the cable from pinching when the compute tray is fully assembled.
  3. Press the front operator panel in until the locking tabs engage.
  4. If you are replacing the operator panel cable, route the front operator panel cable to its connector on the lower system board and connect it. See Cable routing for common components.

After you have installed the front operator panel:

  1. Make sure that all cables are correctly routed. See Cable routing for common components and Cable routing for drives.

  2. Install the lower fan cage. See Install a fan cage (lower tray).

  3. If you removed an upper system board or system board filler, install it. See Install a system board.

  4. Install the compute tray; then, install the front cover. See Install a compute tray and Install the front cover.
