Remove a RAID flash power module (upper tray)

The upper RAID flash power module is in the upper compute tray or optional storage tray that is accessed from the front of the server. After removing the upper tray and fan cage, disconnect the RAID flash power module cable; then, remove the module from the compute tray.

CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
CAUTION
Make sure that all server power cords are disconnected from their power sources before performing this procedure.
Before you remove an upper RAID flash power module:
  1. Remove the front cover. See Remove the front cover.

  2. Remove the upper compute tray or storage tray. See Remove a compute tray or Remove a storage tray.

  3. If you removed a compute tray and it has one or more compute system boards or a system board filler installed, remove the system boards or system board filler. See Remove a system board.

  4. Turn the tray upside down and remove the upper fan cage. See Remove a fan cage (upper tray).

  5. Locate the RAID flash power module in the compute tray or storage tray.

Complete the following steps to remove an upper tray RAID flash power module.

  1. Press the release tab and rotate the RAID flash power module upward.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the RAID flash power module.
  3. Remove the RAID flash power module from the compute tray or storage tray.

If you are instructed to return the RAID flash power module, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
